Version 1.0.3
In development · 6 min read
Tower Trials has been an English-only game since launch. That changes with 1.0.3 — the biggest update since launch isn't a new floor or a new boss, it's the whole game becoming playable in five more languages, properly, not through a translation layer bolted on top.
Five new languages, fully translated
French, Italian, Traditional Chinese, Ukrainian, and German join English. Not just the menus — every one of the 118 cards, all 133 monsters and bosses, and the game's full original story (20 chapters, 19 boss revelations, and the finale) have been hand-translated, not machine-translated. That included real per-language work most players will never see directly but would have noticed if it were missing:
- Correct grammar and case agreement per language, not word-for-word substitution
- Font glyph coverage checked for every character actually used — Cyrillic, Traditional Chinese — rather than assumed
- A dedicated Ukrainian display font swapped in specifically because the original title font has zero Cyrillic characters of its own
Card text now actually follows your language
This one's a real fix, not just new content. Card faces are pre-rendered images for performance — name and description used to be baked directly into that image, which meant a translated card name never actually showed up on the card itself, only in menus that read the raw text. Card art is now rendered separately from its text, so name and description draw live in whichever language you've picked, everywhere a card appears — hand, rewards, shop, deck view, collection.
Also in this update
- Switching languages in Settings now applies immediately — no restart required.
- The language picker's buttons are now a consistent size regardless of which language is selected, and the panel no longer resizes itself depending on how long that language's text runs.
- Fixed enemy attack timing in combat — the HP bar and damage number could land before the attack animation actually finished on enemies with longer attack sequences.
Why Ukrainian, specifically
I'm building Tower Trials solo, from Ukraine. Adding Ukrainian alongside the other four languages isn't just market expansion for me — it's genuinely personal. If you've been waiting to play this in your own language, this update is for you.
