Version 1.0.5: Endless Tower

Released · 4 min read

1.0.5 is out, and it's the biggest Tower Trials update since launch: a new way to play, ten new cards, ten new relics, and a new look across nearly every screen. Here's everything in it.

Endless Tower: the climb never ends

Endless Tower is a new mode next to Story, right on the main menu. It's the same climb without the story scenes, and floor 100 isn't the end anymore: you just keep going. Past the summit, every boss is drawn at random from the Tower's toughest guardians, and enemies grow stronger with every floor. The only question is how high you can get.

Endless Tower keeps its own save, its own difficulty levels, and its own level, Shards and card collection, so a climb there never touches your Story run. Your Story progress is exactly where you left it.

Ten new cards, two for every archetype

  • Miner: Tunnel Vision deals 7 damage and gives you 1 Strength if the target is Vulnerable. Sledge Swing deals 6, and your Strength counts three times.
  • Tinker: Shrapnel Mine sets a 5-damage fuse on every enemy. Chain Reaction deals 3 and sets off all your fuses right now.
  • Brewer: Festering Wound deals 3 and adds 3 Poison to a target that's already Poisoned. Leeching Toxin heals you for half the target's Poison.
  • Runes: Spark Glyph costs nothing, deals 3 and draws a card. Echo Rune gives you 1 Stamina and a card every time you play a Power.
  • Wall: Counterweight gives 9 Block and applies 1 Weak. Thornhide Cloak grows your Thorns by 1 every turn.

Most of them are in the pool from your very first run; a few rarer ones unlock as you climb. Look for the NEW tag in your Collection and the Card Codex.

Ten new relics

  • Pocket Grit, Cracked Lens and Venom Tooth open every fight by putting Weak, Vulnerable or 3 Poison on all enemies.
  • Cinder Wick lights a 4-damage fuse under every enemy as the fight begins.
  • Tin Plate gives 2 Block whenever you play a Skill. Rune Chip gives 1 Strength whenever you play a Power.
  • Honed Fang adds 3 damage to your first Attack each turn. Moth Cloak starts every fight with 1 Dexterity.
  • Warm Flask heals 2 HP at the start of each of your turns. Soot Charm heals 5 HP after every victory.

A new look

Every relic, stat, potion, service and shop item now has its own pixel icon instead of a shared symbol. The Shop is split into tabs, with a stallkeep behind the counter. Achievements, the Bestiary and the Chronicle now sit on boards, and buttons click when you tap them.

Getting the update

1.0.5 is rolling out on Android now and arrives on iOS as soon as it clears App Store review. The first time you open it, the What's New screen walks you through everything, and you can open it again any time from Settings.

Thank you for climbing with us. Now let's see how high you can go.
